What is the revenue seam glossary?
The revenue seam glossary defines every term used in The Thirteen Seams. A handoff that has a name gets a rate, and a rate gets an owner, so the words on this page are the first half of closing any of the thirteen, and the meeting where every handoff carries a name, a rate and an owner starts with your team using the same words, doesn't it?
What is a revenue seam?
A revenue seam is a handoff between two owned functions that nobody owns, expressible as a rate that is currently unmeasured. The full definition, with the four tests that identify a revenue seam, has its own page.
How does each glossary entry work?
Each entry gives a one line definition, the formula where one exists, and a link to the page that owns the term when that page is live. A term with an owning page never gets a second URL, so the entry links straight to the owner.
Which terms already have their own page?

Which terms define the method?
Nine terms define how a seam is found, read, ranked and closed, and how an AI employee keeps it closed.
- The four tests of a seam
- Two capable people sit either side, nobody owns the handoff, it can be written as a rate, and that rate sits on nobody's dashboard.
- Close order
- Read all thirteen, measure all twelve, rank by dollars, close three by hand, prove the rate moved, then automate.
- INSTALL method
- Five steps to hire AI: find the seam, write the job, give it the Business Brain, set the boundaries and the handoff, switch it on.
- AI employee
- An AI hired into one job with a written job description, your business context, set boundaries and a weekly read. How to hire an AI employee
- Drift log
- The running record of where an AI employee's work moved away from its written job, used to keep, retrain or fire it.
- Friday check in

- Transfer lens
- The read of a Seam Map that measures the rate at which work crosses to the next function.
- Node vacancy
- A seam where the role itself is missing, so nobody owns it, as on seam 11, referral, and seam 12, partner channels. Why nobody owns a revenue seam

How is a revenue seam different from revenue leakage?
A revenue seam is narrower than revenue leakage: it is the single handoff where the loss happens, and it divides into a rate. Hyperline's glossary (undated page, 2026) treats leakage as unintended loss from billing errors, missed charges, uncollected payments or process gaps, which is the total, while the $41,253 Frank Kern collected in three days came from one crossing, the buyers who said no with nothing to say yes to next, so which crossing in your business would you name first?
How is this glossary different from a RevOps glossary?
This glossary defines a rate for each handoff, while a RevOps glossary defines the vocabulary of tools and teams. RevOps Co-op's glossary (undated page, 2026) lists roughly 199 terms from A to Z, and none of them names the crossing between two of your teams as a number someone can own.
Who wrote these definitions?
Jon Weberg wrote these definitions. Jon Weberg is a revenue consultant, three time author and international keynote speaker who finds and closes the seams between a company's teams, the handoffs where revenue is lost. He is the founder of Profitalize and the originator of The Thirteen Seams, the AI Seam Architect and the INSTALL method for hiring AI employees. He led the campaign architecture for the $68 billion Klotho Neurosciences and Greenland Mines merger announcement, served as Fractional President of a $70 million a year company, and has worked with Frank Kern and John Crestani.
