Close order: in what order should you close revenue seams?

Close order is the six step sequence for closing revenue seams: read seam 13 first and name an owner, measure all twelve, rank by dollars, close three by hand, prove the rate moved, then automate. Jon Weberg sets it to run after the Seam Map in The Thirteen Seams.

  1. 6 steps in a fixed order.
  2. Seam 13 read first, 12 measured, ranked by recoverable dollars, not by severity band.
  3. 3 closed by hand before 1 is automated.

What are the six steps of close order?

Close order has six steps, in this sequence.

  1. Read thirteen first. Name an owner for the whole chain before anything else is planned.
  2. Measure all twelve. Put a transfer lens rate on every handoff before you fix any.
  3. Rank by dollars. Price each on your own volume and rates, not by severity band.
  4. Close three by hand. Never thirteen.
  5. Prove the rate moved against your own baseline, from your own processor and CRM.
  6. Then automate. Then hand over.

Why does automation come last?

Automation comes last because a system built on a broken handoff runs the leak faster. Only once a handoff holds does a system carry it, which is why the AI Seam Architect closes seams in the order they cost.

What does close order look like before a launch?

Before Coach Kyle's live launch on 30 August 2026, 20 of 57 messages with broken tracking were repaired first. Because measuring came before scaling, the launch counts line by line, 412 registered, 142 live, 37 applications, 30 calls booked and 4 closes at $6,800, and once a rate holds against your own baseline like that, what is left to automate is plain, isn't it?

How is close order different from fixing the loudest problem?

Close order ranks by dollars on your own volume, not by noise. Loud and expensive are rarely the same handoff, and a seam can pass the tests that find a seam without a single complaint, as a node vacancy does, since nobody sits there to complain. So which of your ticks costs the most in dollars, not in noise?

Questions people ask about close order?

Do I have to close all thirteen seams?

No. Measure all twelve, rank them by what they cost on your own volume and rates, and close three by hand. The order matters more than the count.

Who decides the close order?

The Seam Map ranks every seam worst first in dollars, then a dependency check runs: if an upstream seam feeds the top one, the upstream seam goes first, so the three close in that order.

What proves a seam is closed?

The rate moved against your own baseline, taken from your own processor and CRM.

Close order · 6 steps

Rank your seams in dollars and close three in 45 minutes.

Once three handoffs hold against your own baseline, the fourth thing you automate is the first one that compounds, isn't it?
